Volunteers will check in at the Unitarian Society of Germantown, attend a brief service, and then go to the kitchen to make soup for a local soup kitchen.

Volunteers will check in at the Unitarian Society of Germantown, attend a brief service, and then go to the designated space to assemble breakfast bags.

The volunteers would be spread throughout the store assigned different duties to help enliven the atmosphere of the thrift store.

Volunteers will work in teams of ten distributing reusable shopping bags at stores and in residential areas to promote elimination of single-use plastic bags in Chester City, Pa. The bags will feature an image of Dr. King with one of his sustainability quotes. This effort will involve promoting healthy communities through reduction of trash. Volunteers will debrief and discuss how their efforts create better communication in community health matters. Widener University students will participate.

100 volunteers will do service projects around the school.

Children of Twin Hill will be making toys for the cats at their local shelter out of recycled materials.

-being able to demonstrate to the children the importance of working together to achieve the goal

The project will be to feed and service the homeless on the January 20th, by serving hot soup with sandwiches. In addition will provide personal packets with other usable items.

We will be collecting, sorting, and then donating items to local homeless veterans. Students, parents, staff, as well as some community members will be there.

We would like to de-clutter, clean and organize all of the rooms in this historic building. With the help of community partners we have been able to have a successful venture
each year we have participated in this event. Our community partners have been non-profits, colleges and Athletic Recreation Center's neighbors.

We will be considering the experience of homelessness through the lens of the four roles of social change (Organizer, Rebel, Advocate, Helper). 
- Following the morning program, attendees age 4-60+ will have an opportunity to participate in activities around homelessness related to the 4 roles of social changes. Activities include making care packages of toiletries for people experiencing homelessness that will be handed out at the Pit Count in late January,

OEC's MLK Day provides a unique opportunity for the school and community to come together to honor the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. through community service and volunteerism. We welcome community members, partners, as well as OEC students, families, and staff to complete projects that positively impact both OEC and the surrounding community. The day will start with an opening ceremony at 9:00am, three hours of service projects, lunch (provided), and a brief closing ceremony.

Making blankets for individuals experiencing homelessness children, cleaning and painting of the Church, lunch provided and cleaning of a senior citizens residence facility. We will all meet at the Church and split up depending on the project.

Join Art Sphere Inc. for a morning of prepping art projects for our winter programs! The prepped projects will be used in classrooms in underserved communities all across Philadelphia. Art should be available to everyone -- so come utilize your creativity and help us share the cultural wealth!

The Key Club will assist the residents at the Masonic Village/home with delivering their mail and laundry to their rooms. Giving them iced water. Taking them to the lunch room or hair salon. Sitting and talking to them. Playing games. Helping out any way they can.

Volunteers are planning the details for the project. As in years past, we will collaborate with local businesses and community partners to assemble care packages for people within our community. Penn Township is already onboard to provide space and marketing to get the word out. We are soliciting others for donations and additional marketing opportunities for the event.

Students will build birdfeeders to be placed at campus locations.

E01, L05 and M35 will set up an EMS education session and health fair in the lobby of this senior citizens home. We will distribute information to attendees, answer health related questions and check vital signs for attendees.

City Year Philadelphia's Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service is a community service event engaging the Philadelphia community in a day of physical service and beautification of two Philadelphia School District public schools.

Students will either be creating videos or going over to the Early Childhood Center (birth to age 3) of the school

On MLK Day approximately 300 volunteers from YouthBuild are coming to complete a beautification project at the school. They will paint murals in specific locations throughout the building.

The residents of the 6300 block of Ross Street, in partnership with Germantown United CDC and nearby neighbors, are hosting a community clean-up to address the pervasive trash and quality of life issue on E Duval Street. Our clean-up efforts will begin at 9:00am, and we will meet at the corner of the 6300 block of Ross Street, and E Duval Street. We hope to shine a light on this issue, and show our neighbors we support them in being stewards of our community.

Students will make cards/flowers and bring/play games with deaf senior citizens at the Valley View nursing home in Bucks County.

We are organizing the community to come together to show unity in the community. Bensalem residents along with any state, national, local leader, Clergy, Mayor, Senator, Bensalem Council members, Director of Public Safety and police officers. People from the 12 houses of worship are asked to bring non-perishable food items, baby care products and toiletries.  Items collected are donated to different panties in the community
