Join HIAS PA to learn new tools to advocate for Philadelphia's immigrant communities to your elected officials. The HIAS PA advocacy team will be having a one hour training on the history of race in the US immigration system. We will then use what we've learned to write our elected officials about how they can take action for Immigrants and Refugees in the New Year! This event will take place at HIAS PA (2100 Arch St).

The purpose of Rock the Vote! is to assemble packages to distribute in community in order to Get Out the Vote. Rock the Vote! packs includes a kindness rock reminding persons to vote, rock candy and literature on new voting legislature and schedule of elections for 2020.

This is the kick-off to a global missions project where pillow case dresses will be sewn for young girls in Uganda. The kick-off is an event for for 100% cotton pillow cases to be donated and plans to be made for making the dresses.

This will be a Town Hall discussion about the importance of raising wages at McDonald’s. At 12:30 we will march from Uncle Bobbies to McDonald’s for a rally.

Children and teens will participate in creating and decorating bags for personal care and keep it warm packs.

Copper Beech will be a center to collect school supplies from the community of students, families, and leaders starting from December 2nd to January 17th. There will be an assembly on Jan. 7th to commemorate MLK's life and the importance of character that C.A.R.E.S.

The warehouse and industrial kitchen in our Philadelphia Caring Center can accommodate groups of all sizes. You'll work together to cook meals that our volunteers will deliver to people across the region. In the warehouse, you will help with the inventory/ sorting of food items and deliveries that may arrive at the facility.

Students will go to Cradles to Crayons to help sort and/or clean donated children's items such as clothing, shoes, books and toys.

“Send Valentine’s Greetings to a Child in the Hospital,” 10 a.m. Jan. 29. All are welcome to drop in and design a card for a child in the hospital. Cards will be sent to Cards for Hospitalized Kids, an internationally recognized charitable organization. Registration is not required.

The Office of the Child Advocate Court Appointed Special Advocate Program of Delaware is expanding its efforts to represent the interests of abused and neglected children.

The program is seeking qualified adults to serve as CASA volunteers, trained members of the community who are appointed by Family Court judges to advocate for the best interests of abused and neglected children in court proceedings. The CASA volunteer conducts an independent investigation into the child’s life.
