“Wellness Initiative for Senior Education,” 11:30 a.m. Jan. 3, 10, 17, 24, 31 and Feb. 7. The six-week, evidence-based substance abuse prevention and wellness program will cover topics from stress management and healthy living to medication management and prescription drug abuse. Free lunch will be provided. Registrants agree to attend all six sessions.

Write a letter to an Ecuadorian child, which will be delivered during the February 2020 program, and create a drawing of an Ecuadorian animal.Participants are asked to bring a gently used or new pair of children’s shoes to the Education Gallery through the month of January, to be given to the children living in rural Ecuador.

West Phila. Action for Early Learning Initiative (AFEL) will be honoring the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr with a Family Read-Along and Book Distribution as part of the annual MLK Day of Service at Drexel University’s Dornsife Center for Neighborhood Partnerships, 3509 Spring Garden Street. Activities will take place from 10 am to Noon. Parents, caregivers and children of all ages are encouraged to participate. Children’s books will be distributed. Weed and overgrowth clean-up at a historical cemetery. Wear work gloves and sturdy shoes.

We'll create simple origami planter “starters” out of recycled newspaper and plant milkweed seeds in them. Participants will take home and then transplant to gardens to support the monarch community, or donate to a Community Garden. Education about the monarch butterfly / milkweed connection will be offered.

We would like to de-clutter, clean and organize all of the rooms in this historic building. With the help of community partners we have been able to have a successful venture
each year we have participated in this event. Our community partners have been non-profits, colleges and Athletic Recreation Center's neighbors.

We will package and prepare invitations for residents of Bristol Borough to take part in the 2020 SouperBowl of Caring on SuperBowl Sunday. We will then distribute the invitations to all 2500 homes in Bristol Borough. A tandem event will take place on Sunday, Feb. 2 (SuperBowl Sunday). We will go through the streets of Bristol

We will hosting a large group of residents / volunteers from the township of Mount Holly, surrounding towns, the 3 schools in the district, plus the local high school.
Partners include Mount Holly Twp Public School District, Rancocas Valley Regional High School, the Joint Base McGuire - Dix - Lakehurst, local businesses, etc.
The activities will include a non-perishable food donation, arts & crafts, a display of MLK related art and writings, games, letter writing, a reflection wall, etc.

We will hold a supplies and clothing drive for Cradles to Crayons. The donation drop off and sorting will begin on 1/20 and extend the following two weeks

We will have an open house with some refreshments for members' families and the local community. Fire Fighters will discuss fire prevention and fire safety. We will have educational information and activities related to fire safety for all ages. We will assist the community with cleaning up the streets within a two block radius in each direction from our station

We will be using the Write for Rights campaign to write letters of support to individuals who are imprisoned for speaking up against injustices around the world. We also send letters to governments calling for the release of these said individuals.

We will be offering a free wash a dry service for girls ages 12-18 at Tamed Salon.

We will be decorating tissue boxes to give to a local nursing home for all the residence to have in their bedrooms. Also, we will be making bathroom gift baskets with a variety of gifts that could include body liquid soaps, body lotion, shampoo, chap stick, perfume, after shave, costume jewerly, lip gloss, room air fresheners, tooth brush, mouth wash.

We will be considering the experience of homelessness through the lens of the four roles of social change (Organizer, Rebel, Advocate, Helper). 
- Following the morning program, attendees age 4-60+ will have an opportunity to participate in activities around homelessness related to the 4 roles of social changes. Activities include making care packages of toiletries for people experiencing homelessness that will be handed out at the Pit Count in late January,

We will be completing the cataloguing of books, moving instructional materials out of the library and alphabetizing and sorting the fiction and non-fiction into order. We will also hang book covers to decorate the library and label bins of series books.

We will be collecting food for our food pantry at a local grocery store, and stocking them in our pantry. We rely on monthly food drives to supplement the food we obtain from the food bank. The food bank has a limited amount of options, and we need additional food to help feed people throughout the entire month. The food drive will be held at Casel's grocery store, and the pantry is located at the Jewish Family Service of Atlantic and Cape May Counties office in Margate, NJ.

We will be cleaning up the Laura Sims Skate House facility. Additionally we will be cleaning the park around Sims and Cobbs Creek Recreation Center.

We will be clean the space, painting the space, and beginning to transport books and shelving to the space for the library if possible.

We will assemble, package and deliver 300 sandwiches to Holsey Temple CME Church and Harambe Baptist Church feeding ministries

We will also be collecting donations (crayons, colored pencils, paint, paper, scissors, glue, etc) and assembling art packages to be distributed to kids who don't have access to art supplies. Art should be available to everyone -- so come utilize your creativity and help us share the cultural wealth!

We plan on having the children do a presentation about the legacy of MLK and other prominent activist .
