We will prepare the meal and dining room to welcome our guests. We will serve dinner to our guests. Then we will clean the dining room and kitchen after the meal. We will have volunteers help with the meal
service. Project Hope will send a NP to do screenings for our guests (blood pressure, HIV, glucose, etc.)

The week of MLK day several different groups (wrestlers, cheerleaders, Tri-M Music Honor Society, Friends of Rachel Club, Student Council, Interact & environmental club) will do service projects after school. making breakfast bags for Aid for Friends!

As part of an afterschool program (LEAP), the children's librarian will read My Daddy, Martin Luther King, Jr. by Martin Luther King III to children in grades K-5. After discussing the book, children will write or draw an answer to the question, "What can you learn from the story about courage and taking action?"

Volunteers will arrive at 4:30 pm to help with meal prep and serving dinner to 100+ homeless men women and children.

We invite you to visit The Franklin Institute for free on Community Nights! Everyone is welcome to join us at this monthly event that features our famous permanent exhibits, hands-on activities, and live science shows. Each month we highlight local partner organizations that provide science activities or resources.

This event is free. Doors open at 5:00 pm. We invite guests to park in our garage for a discounted rate of $6 for the evening.

Penrose Playground will be hosting its 2nd Martin L. King Recognition Dinner. We will acknowledge the hard work and dedication of 6 community activists and 1 junior activist. These individuals have volunteered over the years to ensure that the Penrose community (families and friends) have a building for shelter during the day, a person that will listen, food for their bodies and a safe place to grow. These are individuals that worked hard to bring Martin L. King's dream to reality.

The Girl Scouts of Saucon Valley in Kindergarten through 5th grade will be crafting toys for the shelter animals, thank you cards for the military and small gifts for the meals on wheels recipients.

The Howell Alliance will host a Healthy Community Think Tank on Jan. 6. Topics discussed at quarterly meetings include social media/technology use, vaping, underage drinking, marijuana use and mental health. Community members are welcome to share their ideas and perspective in an informal environment to enrich the community’s commitment to youth at-risk behavior prevention. No membership is necessary. The 2020 meeting dates are Jan. 6, April 6, July 6 and Oct. 5 at 7 p.m. at Echo Lake Pavilion,
