Rise Against Hunger’s meal packaging program is a volunteer-based initiative that coordinates the assembly-line packaging of highly nutritious dehydrated meals comprised of rice, soy, vegetables and 23 essential vitamins and minerals. The program was created to give dedicated individuals and organizations — from businesses to civic clubs — the opportunity to participate in a hands-on international hunger relief program and to become educated, engaged advocates for those facing hunger. In partnership with NewCORE (New Conversations on Race and Ethncity) and WHYY, a group of promient religious leaders will share their stories and enagage in a conversation on how race and racism informs their leadership and the communities they lead. Included in the evening will be light reception, where attendees will be invited to engage on their own small group discussions and story-telling activities .

Thomas Paine Unitarian Universalist Fellowship is hosting an MLK Day of Service program designed with families in mind. We will open our day with a brief program with words of inspiration and song. Then, families can rotate through a series of simple project stations that will benefit various organizations in our community.
