Rise Against Hunger’s meal packaging program is a volunteer-based initiative that coordinates the assembly-line packaging of highly nutritious dehydrated meals comprised of rice, soy, vegetables and 23 essential vitamins and minerals. The program was created to give dedicated individuals and organizations — from businesses to civic clubs — the opportunity to participate in a hands-on international hunger relief program and to become educated, engaged advocates for those facing hunger. Penn Athlete volunteers from the Women’s basketball and Men’s Lacrosse team will hold sports clinics throughout the day that emphasize the importance of good sportsmanship, skill, and community. Students will be able to test out their agility skills during a rock-wall session. The rotations will end with a community-building service project led by current graduate students who were also former student-athletes. The service project portion is a women’s empowerment kit that consists of toiletries

Making cookies to give a sweet treat to people in hard times and collected canned goods to distribute at the food pantry.

Honor the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. with a day filled with family-friendly performances and arts and crafts activities, spotlight talks about social justice, and more.

Students will be doing multiple projects including packing necessities for veterans, cleaning up the community and working with the VFWs

Making Blankets for "Uncle Shawns Hugs" - to be delivered to children in need of all types - emotional, financial, at risk, etc.

Students and their families from the Lower Merion School District will participate in a variety of projects, from creating Valentines to Veterans, to Dream Flags, to snack bags for families at the Ronald McDonald House, and more projects TBD. There will be entertainment as well.

Montclair State University students, faculty, staff, alumni, and local community members are invited to serve in the Montclair community and surrounding areas. Volunteers arrive at the Student Center Cafeteria and are dismissed to their service sites which are 13 off-campus sites and 3 on-campus sites. The off-campus service sites are Canterbury Village, Ceberal Palsy of North Jersey, CUMAC, Covenant House of Newark, Habitat for Humanity Paterson, Job Haines, KinderSmile Foundation, and more!

The PTOs of all 5 schools are providing supplies so that we can complete hands on service activities: creation of nonviolence flags for each school

There will be more than 25 projects organized by Abington Friends School allowing for in excess of 600 participants. Projects offered are for all skill and age levels and we partner with 15 different organizations.

Monday’s project will include preparing a classroom for transformation into a new calming room for Conwell. The project will also include refreshing the cafeteria and other common areas, and assembling recreation equipment for Conwell’s after-school program. The majority of the work will be cleaning and painting, with some organization and equipment assembly as well.
