Volunteers will crochet, knit and donate scarves for Operation Gratitude. In addition, attendees will share stories regarding Dr. King.

Together with AmeriHealth partners, we are working towards continued school facility improvements. With the assistance of many volunteers, we will tackle larger projects including:
painting doors, door-frames and hallway touch-ups
paint touch-ups for murals
closet clean-outs
materials distribution
classroom cleaning (desks, chairs, floors)

Germantown Friends School students, faculty and staff will make MLK-themed vision boards to reflect their peace-related aspirations for 2019.

Sort Medical-Surgical Supplies ? Check expiration dates on all items ? Anything less than 4 months from today should be discarded. ? If practicable, fill boxes with like items; otherwise, fill boxes with assortments. ? Use intact/sturdy boxes to facilitate palletizing. Linen ? Transfer linen from laundry carts into boxes or other designated receptacles. ? Tape boxes well to facilitate palletizing. Office/Restroom Housekeeping ? Dust/clean horizontal surfaces. ? Sweep off all cobwebs. ?

Each house of worship does a a thirty-minute service with a message about their faith, traditions and beliefs, followed by fellowship meal or refreshments.

On Monday January 21, 2019, the Crispus Attucks Association will be holding its annual MLK Day of Service. multiple community groups TBD.

Students and staff will be participating in multiple community clean-up, catering to shut in individuals.

Our day will include an essay and art contest.

Cradles To Crayons is dedicating the month of January to Martin Luther King, celebrating his legacy of service in the community.

In partnership with local fire stations, first responders, and community centers Cradles to Crayons will hold a collection across the Greater Philadelphia five-county region.

Penn Athlete volunteers from the Women’s basketball and Men’s Lacrosse team will hold sports clinics throughout the day that emphasize the importance of good sportsmanship, skill, and community. Students will be able to test out their agility skills during a rock-wall session. The rotations will end with a community-building service project led by current graduate students who were also former student-athletes. The service project portion is a women’s empowerment kit that consists of toiletries

The plan is to clean the floors of the gymnasium, main hallways, the areas of the facility that are heavily used. Paint areas that have been neglected over a period of time.

This project involves shelf weeding at the West Chester Public Library.

We will be painting part of the second floor at Lankenau Environmental Science Magnet High School. We will be inviting students, staff and parents to come out on MLK day to help beautify our school. Our students will have the opportunity to earn Community Service Hours. We have been in touch with a representative with the Mayor’s Office of Civic Engagement and Volunteer Service
who is currently looking for a group of volunteers to help with our project.

Located in the Erial section of Gloucester Township, this campground has undergone extensive renovations over the last few years. Service project entails cleaning of the buildings and outside area. This is an outside activity.

Students, family members, and staff will be collecting and organizing books, coats, and stuffed animals for children at the Stenton Family Manor homeless shelter.

We will label books and write notes to children in local hospitals

We will provide information to senior citizen and the community at large on services available to them provided by our local government and providing food for those in need and to follow up with services where we find the need.

The Food Bank of Delaware’s Backpack Program volunteers will be packing food in bags for the student. the goal is to pack 1200 means.

We are looking to have an indoor and outdoor cleanup, a guest speaker and finish the day with a basketball tournament.
