Hosted by area teens from throughout the region, Streaming Justice will originate from the SLB Radio studios in the Children's Museum and feature music, conversation, listener phone calls and more, all of which will air live at www.youthexpress.org or via the TuneIn app or the Simple Radio app

Download the app to jump in and select nearby rescues whenever it fits your schedule. Our food rescue heroes complete one-time/weekly rescues from grocers to non-profits. This can be added to your schedule and track YOUR incredible impact in the app.

Volunteers will be assisting in the kitchen to provide meals for MANNA's population.

Sixty students will participate in an intensive research exploration of African American culture and history by visiting the MLK Monument and National Museum of African American History and Culture in Washington, D.C. Faculty will serve as their guides to assist students in completing several learning outcomes, which include developing Knowledge about different racial/ethnic groups, openness to diversity and challenges, socio-historical thinking, and social action engagement.

We will have Martin Luther King Alumni, Germantown Alumni, The men of Kappa Alpha Psi Philadelphia Police, Representatives from The VA, Representatives and Resources from Congressman Dwight Evans office, State Representative Stephen Kinsey and Administration, Senator Art Haywood and Administration, Representative Helen Gym and Administration local Elementary schools and Junior High Schools, Philabundance, Artists, Workshop Partcipants, Health providers.

The Assemble Kid Snack Packs project allows volunteers to assemble specific foods donated in a food drive for children in after-school programs or for children to take on field trips. Snack Packs are delivered to Chester County Food Bank.

CLEAN AND RAKE LEAVES FROM NEIGHBORHOOD

The Martin Luther King CommUNITY of the Greater Kennett Area will present the 18th Annual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. CommUNITY Breakfast on Monday, January 21, 2019. The breakfast is an opportunity to celebrate Dr. King's legacy of love and service and be inspired to live out his dream today in our community and throughout the world. Our 2019 theme is "Diversity is our Strength."

We have requested to volunteer at the site and tasks could include meal serving, meal prep, donation and pantry organization.

Voter registration stations.

General clean up of building - wash windows, mop floors clean kitchen and organize books and board games. Maybe rake leaves weather permitting

GBCA/ACE/Clemens/KML will be leading the building construction of 9 wooden trash can enclosures to be donated to the Kingsessing Recreation Center. Students from the ACE Mentor Program will build the structures will guidance from volunteer carpenters.

This Sewing/Quilting Circle project focuses on using crafts and skills to provide items of warmth and comfort for others. Both experienced and novice volunteers are needed and welcomed. This project allows volunteers to quilt or sew items for those in need. There will be seamstress making blankets for patients in hospitals and nursing homes.

The East Stroudsburg University Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration Breakfast was initiated by former President Robert Dillman and other dedicated individuals including Leslie Antonette and Mel Gillespie in 1997.
This celebration is a significant and symbolic event in the East Stroudsburg Community as it is the largest program in the area honoring the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

Social Justice workshop and training

Students from Hill-Freedman World Academy's IB Program will be designing and implementing service projects to help improve their school community. These include: beautification of the inside and outside of the school, painting, cleaning, organization.

Coats received from members and donors will be organized by male/female/adult/child and prepared for distribution to the Community starting at 11:00AM. Participants will be comprised of Alliance of Social Workers, Inc. members, family, friends, advocates and National Association of Black Social Workers student chapters from various schools such as Widener University, West Chester University.

The Assemble Personal Hygiene Care Kits project will package donations with notes of encouragement for homeless shelters and emergency backpacks that are given to those who are unsheltered.

Montclair State University students, faculty, staff, alumni, and local community members are invited to serve in the Montclair community and surrounding areas, working with habitat for humanity in Paterson, NJ. in order to assist in a volunteer building project.
