Germantown Friends School students and families will make soup and cornbread for Holsey Temple's feeding ministry.

Germantown Friends School students, faculty and families will sew hats, scarves and turtle furs for Soup Kitchens in Germantown and the Center for Returning Citizens.

Germantown Friends School students, faculty and families will participate in a dialogue on intersectionality.

Germantown Friends School students, faculty and families will participate in a walk around Germantown to learn about the different shops and organizations there.

Germantown Friends School students, faculty and families will sing make wooden bowls for a local empty bowls dinner.

Germantown Friends School students, faculty and staff will make MLK-themed vision boards to reflect their peace-related aspirations for 2019.

Community Outreach

The teen ministry will be cleaning the indoor portion of the church.

The younger ministry (ages 5-12) will be packing toiletry bags for the homeless.

Volunteers will be going to homes of the elderly in the church community and performing tasks that they are unable to perform for
them

Volunteers will be painting, cleaning and there will be activities for children

Students will pack and sort donations that were collected for the PA
women's shelter and local shelters

We are looking to have an indoor and outdoor cleanup, a guest speaker and finish the day with a basketball tournament.

A combination of community residents and community leaders will come together to clean the facility and surrounding streets on this day.

Volunteers will sort items to fill Blessing Bags which will be distributed to displaced and homeless members of our community. There will be opportunity to write notes of encouragement for those receiving the bags. Blessing Bags are gallon bags filled with non-perishable food, snacks, water, toiletries, socks and other essentials for those who are in need. We welcome donations of items for the bags - drop off to the Jennersville YMCA.

**Program will lead with the opening remarks and light refreshments. Participants will have the opportunity to create posters and banners depicting a world of nonviolence. Participants can engage in child friendly activities followed by a peace march around the immediate neighborhood and ending with lunch.

Participants will be CPS parents, students, alumni, community members, etc.

Each house of worship does a a thirty-minute service with a message about their faith, traditions and beliefs, followed by fellowship meal or refreshments.

The Parent Association Committee for Racial Equity is planning an interactive workshop on dismantling white supremacy and furthering Dr. King's legacy. Simultaneously age-appropriate activities for children will be offered. The workshop will be followed by lunch and action/service projects.

This project focuses on literacy. Volunteers read stories and reflect on Dr. King with children, youth and parents. Singing songs and/or listening to music foster the atmosphere of celebration and holiday.

Did you know that socks are the #1 most requested clothing item in the homeless community? A fresh pair of socks and a snack ‘rolled together’ are our small way of making a big difference in the lives of those in need. We will be packaging snacks and/or hygiene items such as toothpaste or a toothbrush. They will be finished off with a ribbon and a note of encouragement from a child to bring compassion and a bit of hope to individuals experiencing homelessness.

This project focuses on literacy. Children and youth are allowed to explore, discover and understand the life, teaching and philosophy of Dr. King.
