Residents who live in the independent home will work with those in skilled nursing (Mather House) on various games and projects.

We will be working with the Philadelphia Goat Project cleaning stalls, training the goats, and walking the goats through the neighborhood and arboretum. The goats visit schools and perform at various community events and we support their training so they can do these projects. (Prinnie)

Germantown Friends School staff members will take still photos of Germantown to help educate Germantown Friends School members about their surrounding communities.

We will be cleaning a local church in the community with children and
adults

Will work for an agency that serves homeless or senior citizens the students will assemble packages or help with thrift store. tbd

Food collected is being donated to the St Ignatius Food Bank

There will be a book give-away of donated books. Program partners and community members with an interest in books will be
invited to come

General clean up of building - wash windows, mop floors clean kitchen and organize books and board games. Maybe rake leaves weather permitting

Painting

Our classes will be doing two projects:

Project 1 - baking cookies to give to PSD bus drivers, maintenance, and housekeeping staff.

Project 2 - collecting medical supplies and making care kits to send to SoleHope (http://solehope.org/)

Henry School - public school clean up - 601 Carpenter Lane

Youth students from Riverstone Church will help clean and organize clothing and donations at Sunday Breakfast Thrift Store in Penndel.

On Jan. 21st 2019, AAMP will be hosting our annual MLK Day at the museum. The theme for the day is Media and The Movement. Programs for the day include a re-enactment of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. by Carlo Campbell, a Memorial Concert, and an award ceremony for the winner of the 2019 Activism in Action Creativity Contest. The museum will offer $2.00 general public admission all weekend.

Painting

Volunteers will be phone/text banking to support Soil Generation on their Threatened Gardens campaign. Soil Generation is a Black & Brown-led coalition of gardeners, farmers, individuals, and community-based organizations working to ensure people of color regain community control of land and food, to secure access to the resources necessary to determine how the land is used, address community health concerns, grow food and improve the environment.

We will assist residents and neighbors with cleaning the park and playground. We will also distribute fire prevention literature.

Every year, we feed the hungry on Martin Luther King Day. We also give out premade kit to those in need.
