Germantown Friends School students, faculty and staff will make MLK-themed vision boards to reflect their peace-related aspirations for 2019.

A combination of community residents and community leaders will come together to clean the facility and surrounding streets on this day.

Blanket Making for Mitzvah Circle

We will partner with Universities in the area, our parents and students to keep our area clean and free of trash.

A combination of community residents and community leaders will come together to clean the facility and surrounding streets on this day.

We will collect toiletries to donate to the Philly Committee for Homeless Youth.

We host a Family Day of Service geared toward children of all ages and their parents/ adult caregivers. This year we will be assembling toiletry bags for homeless persons served by the Interfaith Hospitality Network of the Mainline and also persons at area Recovery Houses

Sorting donated shoes. Through the collection and sale of used shoes, Soles4Souls helps create self-sustaining jobs that generate desperately needed revenues throughout impoverished communities.

The members of our church and community members are invited to clean our neighborhood. The areas to be cleaned are several parking lots, sidewalks, bus stops. Leaves will be gathered and put in trash bags.

Blanket Making for Mitzvah Circle

Family Ambassadors conduct readings of MLK bio books to children organized by age groups.
Adults are welcome to participate. After the readings, all participants complete an MLK Day discussion sheet "I have a dream that one day..." and share each other's dreams in the group. Volunteers also will be assembling family resource bags -- filled with home goods and cleaning supplies -- to be distributed to participants and at other AFEL events. Partners include People's Emergency Center.

Due to forecasts of dangerously cold weather, winds and potential snow or ice, we will no longer be holding this volunteer event on Monday, January 21st from 10am-12pm at Pennypack on the
Delaware. We will reschedule this same cleanup event for Saturday, February 2nd from 10am-12pm at the same location (Pennypack on the Delaware) with the same volunteer tasks. Please email info@riverfrontnorth.org if interested in the February 2nd event. Thank you!

We will assist residents and neighbors with cleaning the park and playground. We will also distribute fire prevention literature.

Spending quality time with residents helping in the activities areas to enrich their lives. Help residents make MLK Jr. Plaques as an Arts & Craft project, helping with Civil Rights BINGO, helping to sort and organize decorations, or just sitting and chatting with some of the residents who enjoy one to one time.

Book Collection and Sorting for Philadelphia Schools

-church members are partnering with neighbors in beautifying the neighborhood; -we encourage all ages to be involve, no you is too young or old; -continuing creating a fellowship with the neighbors; -being able to demonstrate to the children the importance of working together to achieve the goal; -being reminded and introducing what the civil rights movement is about and why it is important (senior adults share their experiences); - viewed some videos of Dr. King and held discussions; -lunch

Student and adult volunteers will help to pick u trash on the school grounds with a focus on the Nature Trail

Students from Hill-Freedman World Academy's IB Program will be designing and implementing service projects to help improve their school community. These include: beautification of the inside and outside of the school, painting, cleaning, organization.

We will clean up trash and debris on the outside grounds.

Located in the Glendora section of Gloucester Township, the tavern was built in 1756. Service project entails cleaning up the home and assisting in archiving old letters. Project is limited to ten volunteers - adults must accompany children.
