All bags are donated to the Whosoever Gospel Mission and distributed.

To help cleaning the community building.

To do general clean up and organization on the Tuckerton Seaport & Baymen's Museum site. There are almost 2 dozen buildings and 40 acres on the site as part of the museum that needs general maintenance and object organization. As a non-profit organization, we rely on the commitment of volunteers to serve the community to the best of the organization's ability. We are also committed to stewardship of the environment and on-site maintenance and clean up can have a significant positive impact.

This will be the 16th year that our school and basketball programs have helped volunteer on MLK Day. We will be working with the residents at Lions Gate and helping them with activities such as bingo, arts and crafts, and dancing. We will then read MLK's I Have a Dream speech.

This week, in preparation for Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service, we are partnering with Global Citizen365. We are collecting new and gently used professional attire for men and women who cannot afford to buy these items for themselves. Our goal is to help them dress for an interview or provide clothing that is fitting for a new job in the professional world.

This Sewing/Quilting Circle project focuses on using crafts and skills to provide items of warmth and comfort for others. Both experienced and novice volunteers are needed and welcomed. This project allows volunteers to quilt or sew items for those in need. Seamstress will be making blankets for patients in hospitals and nursing homes.

This project focuses on providing food for local community institutions that feed the hungry, homeless and less fortunate. The “SuperMarket Food Drive” is conducted to stock the West Chester Food Cupboard.

This project focuses on literacy. Volunteers visit community day care centers, schools and shelters to read books, do arts and crafts activities and reflect on Dr. King with children and residents. Birthday cake and refreshments are served. Each child receives a brand new book.

This project allows children and youth volunteers to use their talents and skills to create posters depicting Dr. King's legacy. Posters are displayed via onsite gallery and posted on website.

This is the kick-off to a global missions project where pillow case dresses will be sewn for young girls in Uganda. The kick-off is an event for for 100% cotton pillow cases to be donated and plans to be made for making the dresses.

This is a virtual event that the Girl Scouts will be participating in. They will have the I promised a Girl Scout I would vote patch packet. The goal of this packet is to get the girls civic minded and to engage the community with voting. The girls will have to get 20 signatures that promise they will vote in the next election. Our doors will be open that day so that if someone would like to pick up the packet they can. Or people can come and sign as well.

Create shoes and soles for children in Uganda

There are approximately 1,200 active adult guardianship cases in the State of Delaware. These vulnerable individuals are adults who have been deemed incapacitated by the Court of Chancery and have had guardians appointed to make medical and/or financial decisions on their behalf. The Guardianship Monitoring Program is in need of volunteers to meet with these individuals, in care facilities as well as in the community, and to update the court on their current health and well-being.

The youth will later clean the library and paint a mural on the wall in the teen section of the library. Also The 2019/2020 Girls Who Code in conjunction with Sisters R Us Survivors Of Delaware County will prepare care packages for Breast Cancer Survivors.

The youth from our community will unite with church members to beautify the church and surrounding areas.

The work shop will help the student and parents better understand college admissions and financial aid. Topics will include:

**Managing application deadlines
**How to apply for financial aid
**What you should include in your essay and more
**There will also be a college fair

The warehouse and industrial kitchen in our Philadelphia Caring Center can accommodate groups of all sizes. You'll work together to cook meals that our volunteers will deliver to people across the region. In the warehouse, you will help with the inventory/ sorting of food items and deliveries that may arrive at the facility.

The volunteers would be spread throughout the store assigned different duties to help enliven the atmosphere of the thrift store.

The United Way of Lancaster County is reaching out to all of the non profit organizations in our community to coordinate a large-scale morning of Service. There are a variety of projects will be taking place at several different non profit agencies throughout the county. Follow the link below for a list of projects that you can participate in.

The staff at E. W. Rhodes Elementary School will continue their endeavor to update school murals and school painting projects. Due to the square footage of the school, there are a number of areas that require painting. The school does not have the funding to cover all of the areas needed so volunteers from the school community will work on different painting projects around the school.

The school has been able to acquire 16 metal tables, now they must be put together and mounted in the school yard.

The purpose of Rock the Vote! is to assemble packages to distribute in community in order to Get Out the Vote. Rock the Vote! packs includes a kindness rock reminding persons to vote, rock candy and literature on new voting legislature and schedule of elections for 2020.

The program will feature historic videos of MLK and the movement in the 1960s, live music and speakers on current African People's Education and Defense Fund projects which carry on the movement for African self-determination today. Lunch Provided

The Office of the Child Advocate Court Appointed Special Advocate Program of Delaware is expanding its efforts to represent the interests of abused and neglected children.

The program is seeking qualified adults to serve as CASA volunteers, trained members of the community who are appointed by Family Court judges to advocate for the best interests of abused and neglected children in court proceedings. The CASA volunteer conducts an independent investigation into the child’s life.

The Office of Community Relations and Berean Presbyterian will host a play that will feature a lesson on civic engagement. all ages are welcome.

The National Constitution Center will honor Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s lifelong dedication to justice, liberty, and service for the greater good on January 20 with community service projects, special performances, and fun for the whole family. The Center will again join with the Global Citizen’s Greater Philadelphia Martin Luther King Day of Service for the daylong commemoration. The National Constitution Center is also organizing the donation of school supplies.

The mission is to spread positivity throughout campus, helps educate students with mental health, and spread awareness. Activities will include ribbon making for DEAP, mental health education, button making, and rock painting.

The members of Engine 16 will coordinate with the manager of SHOP RITE, to assist the local community with grocery bagging.

The Martin Luther King CommUNITY Breakfast brings together over 500 community leaders, clergy, public officials and friends in observance of the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and for fellowship and service. It is the largest event of its kind in Chester County. For the past two years, Congressman John Lewis has served as our Honorary Chairperson. After the Breakfast there is an opportunity for participants to dialogue with keynote speaker on issues of concern in the community.

The Knitting project focuses on using crafts and skills to provide items of warmth, comfort and clothing for others. Both experienced and novice volunteers are needed and welcomed. Volunteers will be using looms or needles to knit baby caps for newborns or learning to knit by "master" knitters.

The Girl Scouts of Saucon Valley in Kindergarten through 5th grade will be crafting toys for the shelter animals, thank you cards for the military and small gifts for the meals on wheels recipients.
