We need some helping hands to put up new shelving into the wall. We also need help moving our standing display items to different locations.

We invite you to visit The Franklin Institute for free on Community Nights! Everyone is welcome to join us at this monthly event that features our famous permanent exhibits, hands-on activities, and live science shows. Each month we highlight local partner organizations that provide science activities or resources.

This event is free. Doors open at 5:00 pm. We invite guests to park in our garage for a discounted rate of $6 for the evening.

WE ASK THAT EACH VOLUNTEER DONATE A USED CLEAN COAT MALE OR FEMALE. Come with a SMILE.
We will be making sandwiches, fill soup cups, sort and pack toiletries, snack sacks, cut out words of encouragement inserts, pack sandwich bags.

We are setting up a green area inside the building where we will plant seeds for beautifying our outdoor space this coming spring. As an offshoot, there will be an educational hands-on greenhouse program presented to children we are recruiting to join our Green Team - the Rec volunteers who care for our outdoor planting areas.

Food packaging and delivery to homeless and/or food bank. Food donations accumulated during month preceding MLK day.

We are planning a full day of activities starting with breakfast arts and crafts at 219 north 52nd street.

We are organizing the community to come together to show unity in the community. Bensalem residents along with any state, national, local leader, Clergy, Mayor, Senator, Bensalem Council members, Director of Public Safety and police officers. People from the 12 houses of worship are asked to bring non-perishable food items, baby care products and toiletries.  Items collected are donated to different panties in the community

We are looking for help with moving an entire 30 bed female house from 465 W. Main St., Mountville, PA 17554 to 4049 Marietta Ave., Marietta, PA 17547. That may not happen unless we get all our insurance stuff approved so is it doesn't we will be cleaning the Marietta property inside and out.

We are doing 5-6 diff breakout section for adults and young people and kids so we are looking at a 100-125 people showing up and being involved in our program of workshop. we have been apart of this event since it started

WE ARE ASKING THAT EVERY VOLUNTEER BRING AT LEAST 3- 5 PACKED LUNCH BAGS THAT WE CAN PASS OUT THROUGH OUT THE CITY .. WE WILL MEET AT LOVE PARK AND HAND THEM OUT AROUND THAT AREA.

Volunteers will work on environmental stewardship and beautification of a community service center, house of worship, surrounding areas including neighborhood sidewalks, and public area of playground and center square. If there is inclement weather, activities will be indoors. Upon arrival: all volunteers under 18 must provide parent or guardian consent form or sign one at site. WCSC's event will conclude after a provided lunch at 12:00 pm.

Volunteers will participate in various easy, hands on service projects throughout the school.

Volunteers who attend our VITA Tax Preparer training will become IRS certified to prepare taxes for low-income families at one of our tax sites throughout Philadelphia. We offer both a Basic and Advanced training. Once certified, attendees are required to serve at least 24 hours during the tax season (Jan 21 - April 15). Knowing how to prepare taxes is a lifelong skill that will not only enhance your resume, but your volunteerism will have a positive impact on the communities we serve.

Volunteers from Sandmeyer Steel will be packaging emergency food bags that will go to our Home Delivered Meals Clients this winter. The volunteers will also be putting together 300 emergency meals that will help our clients get through weeks where the weather does not allow normal food deliveries, and cooking 200 additional meals that for our clients.

Volunteers are needed to review stone by stone and notate if individual is a veteran, if they need a flag, and flag holder. Cemetery is 20+ acres so many helpers are needed. This one day service project is part of a larger effort to make sure ALL veterans are remembered for their service to our country.

Volunteers are needed to clean the inside of cabinets, oven and behind oven closets. We will also need volunteers to make 65 crafts for our clients.

Volunteers are invited to join community residents in an outdoor clean-up and beautification project of 2 blocks long and including 3 streets wide; namely, 7th to 9th Ave on Chestnut St.; Diamond St. to the South and Lumber and Merchant Streets to the North. Visitors can sing along with “Two of a Kind,” an award-winning, nationally touring, husband-wife duo, during an interactive musical program. Focusing on themes related to Dr. King, the performance will encourage audience participation through songs, sign language, movement, and stories.

Vare Rec. Staff and Advisory Council will be working the community to create a fun day. The day consists of a fun and interactive Dr. Martin Luther King treasure hunt for Children and a community lunch.

Unforgotten Haven – Located in downtown Blackwood this organization accepts donations of clothing and housing items. Volunteers will sort and coordinate donations.

Help us remove trash at Bristol Marsh Nature Preserve in honor of the Martin Luther King, Jr. Day of Service. The more trash we collect, the less will get washed into our waterways!

Trail Work on Cherry Hill Township's 11 trails will take place on this day to honor the work of Dr. King. Meet us at the big red barn at Croft Farm, 100 Bortons Mill Road at 9 am. We will be breaking into groups to work on trail maintenance, trash pick-up, and other work to maintain our open space and trails within the township. Gloves and tools will be provided.

TOMORROW’S GIRLS & Women along with volunteers mission is to put together homeless care backpacks filled with essential items to help people living on the streets this. In addition we will offer fleece blankets and emergency (space) blankets. These NASA designed, foil-type blankets are designed to be wrapped as close to the body as possible and will hold in 90% of body heat. Bags will be distributed throughout North Philadelphia and surrounding areas.
