Students, families, and staff will be assembling sock and snack rolls for local homeless shelters.

The volunteers will be cleaning and painting in the the community ( Chew & Belfield, Chew & Washington Lane, Chew & Chelten, Broad and Olney.)

Making blankets for individuals experiencing homelessness children, cleaning and painting of the Church, lunch provided and cleaning of a senior citizens residence facility. We will all meet at the Church and split up depending on the project.

Our volunteers will be organizing and cleaning the after school room and the new game room.

IN THE SPIRIT OF GIVING, the Clothes Closet of St. Paul’s Baptist has numerous new and gently worn men and women suits, jeans and clothing for infants, toddlers, boys and girls. We also have a variety of belts, shoes and boots.

Volunteers are needed to help with hanging incoming clothing donations, pricing and filling the clothing racks on the sales floor.

We are doing 5-6 diff breakout section for adults and young people and kids so we are looking at a 100-125 people showing up and being involved in our program of workshop. we have been apart of this event since it started

We invite you to visit The Franklin Institute for free on Community Nights! Everyone is welcome to join us at this monthly event that features our famous permanent exhibits, hands-on activities, and live science shows. Each month we highlight local partner organizations that provide science activities or resources.

This event is free. Doors open at 5:00 pm. We invite guests to park in our garage for a discounted rate of $6 for the evening.

Our Community Schools classroom needs to be revitalized. The project is spearheaded by the Community Schools Coordinator (Shira Smillie) who will be overseeing the project. Currently, there are no partner organizations who have committed to the revitalization project. We would love to partner with an organization who can also donate supplies like paint, furniture, and classroom decoration.

The school has been able to acquire 16 metal tables, now they must be put together and mounted in the school yard.

Copper Beech will be a center to collect school supplies from the community of students, families, and leaders starting from December 2nd to January 17th. There will be an assembly on Jan. 7th to commemorate MLK's life and the importance of character that C.A.R.E.S.

All 15 CRSD schools collect items to be donated to several agencies. The Wrightstown food cupboard, Bucks county housing group Penndel pantry, Maternal child consortium, Bucks county emergency shelter, deployment packages to veterans.

The goal/mission of New Day FSC is to prevent Child Abuse and Neglect. By providing fun actives to our families for MLK day, we will be enhancing our mission. We plan on having four different crafts and reading in the kid room about MLK.

Children of Twin Hill will be making toys for the cats at their local shelter out of recycled materials.

Shawna's House Inc is hosting a Crisis Readiness & Awareness Skills Shop. The workshop will also have CPR demonstrations from Councilmen's Bobby Henon's office and Mobile CPR. The workshop will also discuss a crisis plans in the event of one. Community Service Hours will be provided as well.

We need some help cleaning & disinfecting the kitchen area. We will also be sweeping under racks and wiping coolers/freezers down(outsides). Possibly some other odd and ends cleaning jobs. This project is currently scheduled from 9am-12pm but it may be a little shorter depending on # of volunteers.

Join HIAS PA to learn new tools to advocate for Philadelphia's immigrant communities to your elected officials. The HIAS PA advocacy team will be having a one hour training on the history of race in the US immigration system. We will then use what we've learned to write our elected officials about how they can take action for Immigrants and Refugees in the New Year! This event will take place at HIAS PA (2100 Arch St).

The Choice is Yours/JEVS Human Services will host its 4th annual Dr. Martin Luther King Day of HOPE (Helping other people excel). We will be distributing food, clothes, toiletries, books, household items, and toys.

“Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service,” Jan. 20 through Jan. 25. Crochet or knit at home, and drop off your items to the Circulation Department during normal branch hours. All sizes of hats, blankets, fingerless gloves, mittens and leg warmers will be accepted. Items will be donated to local charities. Items will not be accepted before Jan. 20 or after Jan. 25.

Cradles To Crayons is proud to celebrate Dr. King’s legacy of service in the community by hosting our largest region-wide product collection of the year. We will be collecting essential items for children ages 0-12, living in poverty or low-income situations, throughout the five county Greater Philadelphia region. Donations will allow Cradles to Crayons to reach children in need and help keep them safe, healthy and warm throughout the winter. Please donate new or like-new children’s items at one

E01, L05 and M35 will set up an EMS education session and health fair in the lobby of this senior citizens home. We will distribute information to attendees, answer health related questions and check vital signs for attendees.

Engine 3 will educate and distribute fire prevention materials. Engine 3 will also have a sign-up sheet available for people to have smoke alarms installed in their homes.

PFD members will distribute fire prevention literature and answer questions about fire safety.

Members of Engine 10 will assist shoppers of Acme Markets with bagging groceries, loading groceries in vehicle if needed and also having a table set up to hand out fire prevention literature. Members will also have Smoke Alarm Install Request forms on hand to obtain information for future installs.

Members will hand out and discuss Fire Prevention literature with community civilians. Additionally, sign-up sheets will be available to provide home inspections and smoke
detector installations.

Members will review Roses and Radicals by Susan Zimet and agree upon a minimum of 5 most significant selections to be used in a community flyer compilation. Members will initiate community discussion on historical context of inequality within the political system and express importance of involvement in political process.
