Our Congregation is organizing a family-friendly Day of Service with an emphasis on service projects that will be easy for children to complete. We will open our day with a brief program of inspiration and song to set the tone for the day. Then registered participants can rotate through our service project stations, completing projects that will result in donations for individuals and organizations in need throughout the local community.

Volunteers will donate, sort and package literacy items for children in homeless shelters and teachers in a local school.

Items to collected and packaged include paper, pens, pencils, crayons, coloring books, notebooks, book bags and K-6 reading books.

Children and teens will participate in the reading of One King Day book and musical storytelling.

Children will present their STEM projects and explain them.

We will be considering the experience of homelessness through the lens of the four roles of social change (Organizer, Rebel, Advocate, Helper). 
- Following the morning program, attendees age 4-60+ will have an opportunity to participate in activities around homelessness related to the 4 roles of social changes. Activities include making care packages of toiletries for people experiencing homelessness that will be handed out at the Pit Count in late January,

on January 20, join us for family activities (10 am - 4 pm) with AAMP and Art Sanctuary, musical performances (1 pm and 3 pm) by Justin Griggs, and community electronics recycling (10 am - 2 pm) with PAR-Recycle Works. All activities are free and open to the public.

Help us prepare and package healthy meals for those in need. This is a great hands on and meaningful activity for ALL AGES! Food will be served to vounteers!

Clothing Drive for the needy in the area.

Company will be on hand to distribute Fire Prevention material to shoppers as they enter the store and discuss household fire safety. Additionally, we will be taken vital signs upon request so that we can discuss a healthy life style.

We are going to speak on the important life and service of Martian Luther King. We will read a book about service to the lower grades in the school and promote reading and education while delivering a message about a life of service.

This service project will be held at Gilbert Spruance Elementary School, at partner school with HIAS. This school hosts an afterschool program for refugee youth in collaboration with HIAS. Volunteers will be responsible for painting, cleaning and redecorating the school. There will be a reception following the completion of said tasks involving refugees giving their testimonies in regards to some of the obstacles they face as well as information on refugee advocacy.

Drexel University's West Philly Promise Neighborhood will be volunteering with students from Drexel University to paint bathrooms, hallways, and stairwells to spruce up the decor of Martha Washington School in West Philly.

Clean up a side lot to be used in the future as a playground

Members will review Roses and Radicals by Susan Zimet and agree upon a minimum of 5 most significant selections to be used in a community flyer compilation. Members will initiate community discussion on historical context of inequality within the political system and express importance of involvement in political process.

Assist volunteers in cleaning up yard area around the church and painting inside the church.

Company will distribute fire prevention literature and take vital signs.

E01, L05 and M35 will set up an EMS education session and health fair in the lobby of this senior citizens home. We will distribute information to attendees, answer health related questions and check vital signs for attendees.

Interaction with disabled US Servicemen, provide Pizzas and play games, eg bingo, with servicemen.
Any additional assistance as needed.

Members will assist the Recreation Center staff with cleaning and painting and beautification.
