| Project Description | Eastern State commemorates Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and his 1963 "Letter from Birmingham Jail." Actors, youth, and community leaders read excerpts from King’s letter at 11:30 a.m., 1:30 p.m., and 3:30 p.m. On January 21, children ages 7-12 and their families are invited to create art in response to themes found in the letter, and read stories about Dr. King’s legacy. In partnership with PAR-Recycle Works, the historic site encourages the public to recycle old electronics from 10 am to 2 pm. |
